Alice loves slides.  Last year someone at church gave us just the plastic slide part to put one in our yard, but we didn't have anything to attach it to.  I finally tracked down a couple pallets, and used one to make a platform for part of it.  I have two other pallets that we'll use to keep stuff off the floor in the part of the basement that occasionally gets wet.

I just finished the slide this afternoon, and since it's kind of rainy I don't have a picture of her using it yet.  I'll upload one soon.  I also need to seal the slide, but I'll do that later this summer when I seal the deck.  There's nothing stopping her from using it in the mean-time.

We went to my cousin Kara's graduation party today.  She is co-valedictorian of her class, which is very impressive.  I got to see a lot of family I hadn't seen in a while, and a one family member I had never seen before at all--  another cousin's new baby that was only about 2 weeks old:

Alice had a lot of fun, too, especially after Grandma and Grandpa arrived.  There was also a puppy to play with:

While she was excited to see the puppy, she got very nervous whenever she came too close:

Alice had a lot of fun at VBS this week.  Mommy and Daddy had a nice vacation, too, but we're glad Alice is home.  We went to Elkhorn on Friday for the last day to see the closing program.  Here's a picture I took of Alice and Grandpa:

Alice is getting a lot better on the stairs, which is a good thing.  We are still concerned about the top of our home staircase, though, because the stairs twist there and if you're not paying attention you can step down straight to the 2nd or even 3rd stair.  To keep Alice from accidentally falling there I built a little barrier out of some scrap plywood.  It's nothing fancy, but it's enough to keep her from stepping down there:

To do this weekened:
  • Pay bills
  • Clean up nursery
  • Mount box for outlet in nursery
  • Mow lawn
It's not much, but we have things going on both Saturday and Sunday that will limit my free time.
